Celenia Software was founded by Henrik Kristiansen, who is still majority shareholder and a member of the board of directors.
Celenia originates in the company Hotcom Informatik, which was established by Henrik Kristiansen in 1990. Hotcom Informatik developed and sold solutions for Navision. In 1999, the R&D department was spun off to form Celenia Software a/s. In 2000, Henrik Kristiansen sold Hotcom Informatik in order to focus on Celenia.
In 2001, Celenia established a development center in Kiev, Ukraine, and in 2007, a second development center in the city of Zhytomyr, located about 130 km west of Kiev.
The development centers handle Celenia’s Add-on Products and Partner Services projects as well as development projects for Microsoft. The centers employ highly skilled programmers, systems designers and other IT professionals, who work with design and development of software, specialist testing, and documentation for both professionals and users.
Celenia has achieved a unique level of experience in software development in Ukraine, and collaboration between the offices in Denmark and Ukraine is close and efficient.
In 2007, Henrik Kristiansen transferred day-to-day management of Celenia Software to new CEO Rex A. Clausager in order to dedicate his time to the strategic development of the company.
